If you don’t allow God’s change with a cost, then eventually you will allow God’s change at a cost. Change will never feel exciting at first until you fully embrace it. Then, at last, change will always feel elevating. Nothing will change until you will it, because you don’t just want it, but you need it as bad as you need to live. Your will is more powerful than your want. You have to be spiritually and mentally willing to change, not just to be emotionally wanting to change.
2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
Romans 12 : 2
“I need to change” and “I want to change” are two different things. When your future depends on your present decisions, that makes you realize that if you don’t change, then nothing will ultimately change, and your future risks to look worse than the past that you have decided to leave behind. Change is not easy, but you can make it look simple by completely surrendering yourself to The Leadership of The Holy Spirit. You definitely cannot change your past, but you can willingly change your present life which will eventually make your future more predictable than unpredictable.
Life has a strange way of placing you in a position equal to the person you have become comfortable to remain. Your change begins when working on yourself becomes a priority; put aside the need to always fix your environment which changes when you have discovered your ability to outgrow your environment. Then, your need to change your environment won’t be your priority, but it will become a by-product of the main goal of constantly changing who you are on a personal level. And this realization will give you access to your God given abilities to manifest what used to be a wish, desire, dream, or a goal. Remember this, every new you requires a new type of temporary pain. Without pain of change, there is no gain of change. People don’t change until the pain of staying the same is worse than the pain of change. For instance, whenever you get injured, you disinfect it, but if you don’t, you won’t be killed by the wound, but what will kill you will be the infection caused by the untreated wound. You have a choice to be wise from what was intending to wound you; you either get wise, or wounded by any situation.
18 “Do not remember the former things,
Or ponder the things of the past. 19 “Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.Isaiah 43 : 18 – 19
16 Therefore we do not become discouraged [spiritless, disappointed, or afraid]. Though our outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4 : 16
22 that, regarding your previous way of life, you put off your old self [completely discard your former nature], which is being corrupted through deceitful desires, 23 and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude], 24 and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation].
Ephesians 4 : 22 – 24
Uncomfortable changes in life aren’t for the average mind. Every time we think it is hard to change and transform, then it is because it deals with us before we deal with it. Value yourself to the level where if it doesn’t build you to become the best version of whom God has created you to be for Himself on earth, don’t waste your time entertaining it. Because, it will not educate you to create something new and great, but it will always entertain your emotions to make you feel temporarily relieved from the pain caused by change in order for you to gain mastery.
Why do you care for people to see the change in you? As long as God has approved you, you don’t need to look for approval from anyone else. Seek to please God and God alone. You’ll never build anyone up beyond how well-built you are yourself. It all begins with you; then, who you truly are, will inspire others to change their lives for the best. Keep growing and changing. Thank God for His Guidance with His Grace and Love that the old you has died so that the new you should live.
17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
2 Corinthians 5 : 17
If you can celebrate birthdays, why wouldn’t you celebrate your change and transformation? Even if it can seem slow, let it be a sure deal that there is no returning back, but moving forward is the new goal.
