The Kingdom of God needs money to advance. But first, we need to understand the history of how the church mainly started on the continent of Africa. The missionaries had a mandate to twist The Truth for their advantage in order for them to facilitate colonization. The main message was that it is hard for the rich man to go to Heaven; that the love of money is the root of all evil. So mainly, the mindset has to change around the church, as far as money is concerned. If you want to see an impact in the world, we need to be like eagles: we have to have strong wings so we can fly higher above the clouds, and we have to have strong nails so that we can catch our prey when we want to hunt. You have to understand that God created wealth to become a defense as The Bible says:
12 For wisdom is a protection even as money is a protection,
But the [excellent] advantage of knowledge is that wisdom shields and preserves the lives of its possessors.Ecclesiastes 7 : 12
When you go through the whole Scriptures, you can see references of why wealth is very important to the body of Christ. To see the importance of money, even the body of Christ couldn’t be buried if a certain disciple who was wealthy didn’t buy the body and use his tomb for the body to be buried. Imagine that all the disciples couldn’t afford, but because he was wealthy and well connected, he made sure that the body of Christ was buried with dignity. I am not going to give you principles which the world can give you about business. Because, when you use that, there is always a trick where there will be many disadvantages. We should understand that poverty is not just a personal decision: some of us were poor because of the mistakes of our ancestors, some are poor because of people stealing the resources of their country, others are poor of their access to knowledge and information.
To begin a business by itself, you are not supposed to start a business to make a living: it is starting a vehicle for The Gospel of Christ to reach further. So, if The Gospel of Christ needs to reach far, and it demands your discipline in business, then you will have to create a work ethic. Starting a business is not magical; it takes a deep study in what you are trying to do. Prayer is very necessary, but it is for the revelational purpose. But understanding is what allows you to begin, manage, maintain, and multiply the business.
7 “The beginning of wisdom is: Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]! And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation].

Some of us are still at a confused level asking questions such as, “What type of business should I start or invest in?” The best and greatest business you should begin with is self-development: investing in yourself. Capital with a business plan will never allow you to have a successful business if your mind is not renewed by the transformation by God as far as being an entrepreneur and an investor is concerned. The level of self education you have reached at will give you access to the level of self-discipline that you need to maintain that business. When you are doing your study of the business you want to venture in, you need to understand that as Children of God, you don’t copycat the businesses that other people are doing; you are supposed to be creative and innovative. To create something new takes a level of resilience, discipline, and patience. No one will ever succeed in any particular business when their level of patience is impatient. Because if you are not patient, anything which can arise and set you back, can hit you hard and make you quit. But your level of commitment to self-development will allow you to seek the proper type of knowledge, because if you have the right data, then you are steps ahead to succeed: that’s what due diligence means, because you cannot sustain a business you haven’t taken enough time to study.
