Self-Development Matters In Business.

Success is so related to your ability to prioritize The Word of God in your life. The Bible says,

8  This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.

Joshua 1 : 8

There is no amount of discipline as a child of God that you can implement into a business using the framework that the world has already defined, if you don’t come with The Word in you, and be able to do The Word.

22 But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth].

James 1 : 22

How can you do The Word that you are not prioritizing in your life? Many people read The Word to find solutions to their current situation, but few people analyze, study, and meditate on The Word to find Who God is. So, if you are not reading The Word to find Who God is, then every type of narrative that the world will present to you, you will believe because you don’t have standards. Making money is your ability to follow the principles which God has already aligned for us in His Word. So, if you reach to the stage where you can read, study, and meditate The Word on a daily basis – meaning it is a part of your life, then you won’t fall victim to this type of gospel which touches only your emotions. Because, in order to manifest the spiritual wisdom that we have received, you are supposed to embrace it on a daily basis. As an entrepreneur and an investor, the source of my inspiration is The Word of God. To clarify, being an investor is different from being an entrepreneur. Being an investor is seeing where money is and getting a cash flow to invest in that business. Being an entrepreneur is when you start from scratch most of the time: it is when you have an idea and implement it. You must understand that being a business person is not distinctive from you being a child of God: unfortunately, many people want to separate the both.

2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

Romans 12 : 2

The mind is a very powerful thing. Conformity is when a person falls into the system which will make them compromise their principles. Whenever The Bible says the world, it means systems: whenever The Bible says the earth, those are the tangible things. Each of us, our level of mindset was either framed or designed by the environment we grew up in: it shapes how we think, talk, and perceive the world in general. We grew up with our parents thinking that just formal education is what makes you rich. Then when we went to study, they taught us how to be good employees, not good entrepreneurs. That’s why the most common prayer of someone who has just finished university is to get a job; no one asks God whom He created them to be: their purpose. Any plan you have in life should be a servant to your purpose in life. And if you know that each purpose you have is to reflect and demonstrate the Glory of God, then you have to take business seriously.

However, not everyone has the grace to start their own business. But even if you cannot start your own business, going back to self-development, you can become a business inside of another business. To expand this further-more, there are people in a workplace whom you cannot fire because they bring too much value to the company. They have built a certain level of value within themselves to the level where it is hard or impossible to replace them. So even if you don’t have the capital to start your own business, you have the capital to invest in yourself to become a business within another business. Then you become too valuable that you are always consulted before any decisions are made concerning the business; that institution gives you a certain level of privilege that your peers do not have.

The law of mental transformation leads to the law of value, which leads you to understand the law of productivity. Efficiency and productivity are not understood to the mind which values consumption prior to productivity. God has laid the foundation of what money is. He said that what you sow is what you reap. The money you don’t know how it has been earned will just be consumed; it may not even be replicated. Not only is it about mental transformation, but it is your ability to realize that you have been created for something greater than yourself.
