There are people who like proximity: they like to move with those who read The Bible and pray for them. But these people are energy consumers and if you are not focused on your assignment in their lives, you may find yourself drained and low to the extent where you don’t have the zeal to pray or read The Word as you used to because your surroundings are sucking your energy.
When you are born again, there is something called the atmospherical energy. It is a cover which moves with you and you become a territorial commander.
3 I have given you every place on which the sole of your foot treads, just as I promised to Moses.
Joshua 1 : 3
Wherever you step becomes your territory, and as it becomes your territory, it means the atmospherical senses and principalities in the area sense that “there is someone who has moved in this place”. So, when you move with people whose atmosphere is corrupted, however much yours is incorruptible, you will reach a stage where you will be shaky: your spirit will yearn for God, but your flesh will yearn for the world. You then start believing the negativity from those around you and start projecting fear of the future. But let me tell you something, there is always a portion for the children of God. For example, famine can be everywhere, but when you are firmly standing in God, famine can never reach you. We must grow to program ourselves to see ourselves as a blessing where we are not afraid to give because of fear of not getting or having enough for tomorrow. Remember, as we give, we get to give: we don’t receive to give. Receiving comes with a level of entitlement, but giving is understanding what The Word says,
38 “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”
Luke 6 : 38
35 In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.
Acts 20 : 35
These verses aren’t only talking about money, but they are talking about presence as well. We are carriers of the presence of God. Let me tell you something, Jesus never died for us to just live here on earth and then go to Heaven. Jesus died, resurrected, and ascended to Heaven so that Heaven can dwell in us while we are still on earth. Jesus said,
10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6 : 10
For example, the business which is happening in Heaven is supposed to be translated through you on earth. So, if you see your life and you imagine what is happening in Heaven, what kind of life are you living? Your current life reflects your knowledge about God. Notice that I didn’t say your knowledge of God. There is a difference between your knowledge of God and your knowledge about God. Your knowledge of God can be gotten through The Scriptures: reading, studying, meditation, revelation, and teachings or preachings. But the knowledge about God is that intimacy on a personal level that you build with Him respectfully, genuinely, consistently, and with commitment. So that reflection you have about Him translates into you being either shaken with the superficial things of the world, or you are driven by the supernatural nature that God has given you. We are supernatural and extraordinary: there is something super and extra about us. Then, if we are extraordinary, why are we shaken by the ordinary?
